Another Shocker
We decided to check and see if the last shop had really put dual pumps in the tank after other parts the customer was billed for turned out to be missing. The pumps were there, but what we found was far more frightening. The wrong gauge wire was used for power to the pumps and the ground was almost nonexistent. Both pumps were grounded to a bolt on the fuel assembly hanger which doesn’t ground to anything since it seals to the tank via a rubber seal into a plastic collar. YIKES! The power wires were melted and a fire was probably eminent. You can also see the hanger was modified and rusting which led to the debris we found in the fuel tank.
