Innovative Tuning takes 2nd at CSCS Power Adder Debut!
10/22/07 5:51AM
Project Voltron’s first competition was a resounding success, taking second place at the CSCS finale at Toronto Motorsports Park.
Running on street tires, we were severely traction limited all day, but still managed a podium finish in front of thousands of fans in Cayuga, ON.
After 2 rounds of qualifying the Super Street Power Adder class was narrowed to a field of 16.
We got a first round bye since the other car didn’t make the call.
In the second round we took out a Datsun 240z with a turbo 6 cyl in it.
In the third we beat an 11 second turbo VR6 Golf.
In the final round I was up against the Ken Shaw Toyota Corolla. It has a 2JZ single turbo setup in it running through a built turbo 400 automatic and a built Ford 9” rear. I struggled with spinning front tires and wheel hopping rears all day and in the final it was a mess. It was a final so I stayed in it for a bit, but still bogged into second and that was pretty much the end of the race. We were almost .6 behind at the 330’ mark and .8 behind at the 1320’. With proper tires we’ll be ready for a rematch.
